I recommend DRY CLEANING these blankets & throws, but you can WASH BY HAND in cold or cool water (no more than 30 degrees) using a delicate detergent. Move the fabric gently in the water for a couple of minutes.
RINSE with cold water and press the excess moisture out
DON'T WRING.
Follow with a quick SPIN in the washing machine. Pull into shape whilst damp to straighten, then line dry on a breezy day or dry flat. Cool iron if necessary. I do not advise using a Wool Wash programme on your washing machine for blankets and throws.
Interesting facts:
... Wool can absorb 30% of its weight in water before feeling wet so you may need to use the bath for king-sized blankets!
... Leaving in water for a length of time will damage the fires, felting and shrinking the fabric.
