About

In 2012 I began my business journey which was  born from a passion to create and acquire all the things I love, then to pass on to fellow devotees at realistic prices.

The catalyst for what is now Scottish Cashmere Australia / Gramon was looking for a baby pink cashmere travelwrap for myself. One thing led to another and my business  started! I wanted to offer the finest quality cashmere, previously only available in Scotland, along with offering custom made and limited run cushions handmade by me. My passion is to create and acquire all the things I love, then to pass on to fellow devotees at realistic prices.

During my travels I've sampled cashmere from many companies and countries. You just cannot buy cashmere from anywhere else that matches the quality and longevity of that produced in Scotland. I haven't met a customer yet who has regretted their decision to invest in Scottish cashmere. The feedback I constantly receive is that it's worth the investment.  The  majority of my customers are those returning to invest in more!!

Scottish Cashmere Australia /Gramon has been broadening in diversity of products in the intervening years; as during normal times I'm a hopelessly obsessed traveller with a particular love for the UK and France.

Additionally I've been dabbling in my own designs; made in collaboration with various mills in Scotland using the best cashmere in the world  (I've an especially great weakness for the finest quality cashmere and beautiful things made from natural fibres!)

I also import an eclectic array of niche designer fabric ; predominantly English and French country linens as well as beautiful unusual finds that I unearth on my travels. I then transform these treasures into bespoke or limited run cushions, tablecloths, drafts excluders, lavender bags and aprons.

Quality antique  European linens are becoming scarce but I've managed to find a few sources in France, UK and Europe who supply me with the most gorgeous vintage and antique linen napkins, tea towels, tablecloths, grainsacks and assorted other curiosities.

Until 2020 I predominantly sold online and at various private school fairs in Sydney as well as a few select country charity events.  I'm hoping to get back to this when life (hopefully) returns to normal after the Covid 19 disruption to all our lives. Also in 2020 we moved to Balmain Sydney where I have a shop front which, during normal times, is open from 11-4 most Saturdays or by arrangement any other time.

Since 2017 I have had a stall at Dirty Jane's Bowral where I have a limited selection of my stock. The staff there are lovely and it's been a great way for my business to find followers outside of Sydney.

I'm always on the lookout for a run of something beautiful or things that I can make beautiful so keep an eye on my instagram pages @gramoncathy and @scottishcashmereaustralia. If you sign up for my emails you will always be the first to know about anything new, what event I may attend or when I have a sale!

If you are Sydney based order visiting you are welcome to make a private appointment to see the collection if my Saturday opening times don't suit or you have a large scale order.

Many thanks for looking at my collection. I hope you love my acquisitions and designs as much as I do.

All the best.

xx
